I discovered I have diabetes Janurary 2004. The Dr's say I have had diabetes for about 5 yrs and I had no idea I had it. I am currently taking Amaryl 4 mgs a day and 2-1000 mgs of Glucophage a day. This has really helped me control my diet.

Recently (last week) something really strange happened to my right foot. There was a huge knot came out on the side of it. I just thought I had broken it or something simlar. Well Monday November 1, 2004 I had a drs appt and discovered this was more serious than I had thought. I have . My bones have collasped in my foot. I have no pain. I was hospilized Monday Nov 1, 2004, they did x-rays Tuesday 11-2-04, Thats when they discovered the extent of the damage. I am scheduled for surgery Friday 11-5-04.

I stayed in the hospital til November 13th. Almost 2 wk stay.. I have to have IV therapy with anitbotics. The home health people came and started them. My wife has done her moms before and she doesnt need trained.

I have to go to the bone dr every week so he can cut the cast off my foot and see what it is doing. I still have to schedule my 1st visit. More information as time goes by.

I went to the bone dr Thursday November 18, 2004. He cut off the old cast and put a new one on. He also took out the staples. I have a lot of drainage. He wrapped it really good. My wife took a lot of photos >>.

I went to the Dr and he removed my cast. He said I have to have special made shoes. I have an appt 12-7-04 for have a mold of my feet done. to view my photos.
