Oxford Film Festival

Last Friday we went to the Oxford Film Festival. We were coming to see the movie I was in: Hellion, and represent it. We had a great time and here is what we did.

Thursday

Today we set out from Memphis to the Oxford film festival. We headed out at about 4:00 and it was a quite uneventful car ride. We arrived at maybe 6:00 and everyone was happy to get out and stretch. Next we came to the hotel and signed in and brought all our bags into the hotel room. After that we road the shuttle car got our badges and watched part of the music festival.

We didn’t stay long however, because we were quite hungry. We went to a restaurant called Newks, had dinner and then went back to our room where we soon went to bed.

Friday

Today we woke early to go to a restaurant called B.B.B. or Big Bad Breakfast, we had had a delicious breakfast there and then headed out to see some movies.

We saw a community feature called The Show Must Go On then we had lunch at the concessions tent where we spent a good portion of the day and saw the narrative shorts. The best in my opinion was one called Ballerina, although they were all very well done. After this we went back to the room and our parents went back out to see two more movies.

Saturday

Today was our last day at the film festival. When we woke we had a more leisurely breakfast, eating at the hotel. I took a shower and then we headed over to the theater, we saw the the animated shorts and then headed over to the narrative shorts. After they were over I went up with the rest of the film makers and we did a Q&A once that was finished. Then we went back to the concessions stand and had lunch, then we had to leave and head home.

On our way to my next movie, called Slash which started shooting the next day in Irving Texas, we stopped at a great restaurant named Cotham's Mercantile in Scott Arkansas and had dinner. It was quite delicious and we were so full when we were done that Oliver fell asleep.
