Travel Day

We depart Kinston, NC via car very early in the morning. We will be driven to the airport in Raleigh and the car returned to Kinston and stored in the garage.

Our flight departs Raleigh-Durham Airport North Carolina at 6:30 AM and arrives San Francisco at 11:58 AM (Pacific Time). We are flying AirTran Airways Flight 97 to Atlanta arriving in Atlanta at 7:25 AM: We Depart Atlanta on AirTran Airways Flight 39 at 9:40 AM arriving San Francisco at 11:58 AM Pacific Coast Time.

In San Francisco we are staying at the Grant Plaza Hotel Phone number 415-434-3883
Our first tour will be the Fire Engine Tour of Golden Gate Bridge . We also plan to visit Fisherman's Warf, China Town Ride a cable car, ride down Lombard and I'm sure experience other places and events.

Today we depart for our Princess Cruise Line trip to Hawaii, Tahiti and South Pacific. We will be on the Dawn Princess boarding starts at 1:00 PM and all should be aboard by 4:00 PM. Ship sails at 5:00 PM

Our plan is to take a shore tour and relive the decisive days of World War II on a visit to Hawaii’s bases, battlefields and monuments. We travel to the Arizona Monument and Wheeler Field. Tour Schofield Barracks and Fort Shafter. Then explore the Home of the Brave Museum. Lunch will be served at The Fort Shafter Military Club.

We will visit Kahua Ranch and take in a wagon ride in the mountains of the Big Island.Our ranch experience will be High in the mountains of North Kohala on the Big Island of Hawaii is the 8,500-acre Kahua Ranch, a genuine working cattle ranch operating since 1928.

Christmas Island, Republic of Kiribati 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Christmas Island is one of the many interesting islands in the Republic of Kiribati. Part of the Line Islands Group, it is the largest coral atoll in the world with an area of 248 square miles of which 125 square miles is land and remainder lagoon. Its population is mainly Micronesian from the I-Kiribati archipelago, with a small group of Polynesians from Tuvalu and some expatriates.

Rarotonga, Cook Islands 8:00 to 5:00 PM

We will Cruise the crystal-clear lagoon in a glass bottom boat. Swim on a motu coral islet, and enjoy a festive barbecue.

After a short bus transfer, we board our glass bottom boat and cruise the lagoon along the eight-mile stretch of white-sand Muri Beach. We will have close-up views of coral formations and schools of tropical fish.

CORAL MOTU ISLET AND BARBEQUE LUNCH After our cruise, we will relax on the deserted beach of Koromiri, a large coral islet or motu. Swim from the beach and enjoy a lunch of barbequed fish and fresh fruit. Reboard our glass bottom boat for the return to the ship.

We will take in the island’s principal sights and listen to classic Samoan legends during our narrated panoramic drive along the coast.

What we visit, Jean P. Haydon Museum - The museum recounts the history of Samoa and exhibits Samoan art and artefacts.

Tauese’s Museum - The small museum commemorates the life and times of Tauese P.F. Sunria, the first popularly elected governor of American Samoa.

We will tour the Southward Museum, home to a collection of vintage automobiles and motorcycles. Watch demonstrations of traditional sheep-ranching skills at Lindale Farm and explore its specialty shops. Stroll through the Lady Norwood Rose Garden and visit the WWII camp of two American Marine divisions. Southward Museum -
Founded by Sir Leonard Southward, the museum offers an amazing collection of vintage household items, automobiles and motorcycles.

Lindale Farm and Tourist Centre - Watch an exclusive farm show with sheep shearing and visit the specialty shops featuring crafts and gourmet foods, such as cheeses, ice cream, olives and candies.

Lady Norwood Rose Garden - Located near the heart of Wellington, the garden boasts over 1,200 varieties of roses, as well as begonias, ferns, bougainvillea, hibiscus, frangipani and gardenias.

Camp Russell - The site marks the World War II encampments of the U.S. First and Second Marine Divisions.

We will cruise around Otago Harbor and views the abundant wildlife ranging from flocks of migratory birds to penguins and seals. We will cruise to Taiaroa Head, named after a Maori chieftain. The head is home to an old coastal fort and a colony of Royal albatross – the largest seabirds in the world.

Taiaroa Head -An old Maori and European fort is the only place in the world where the royal albatross rests within easy observation.

Royal Albatross Colony - It is a 30-minute scenic cruise to the Northern Royal Albatross rookery at Taiaroa Head. See the largest seabird in the world, up close and in its natural habitat.
