Born and raised in Portland,
Maine
|
Came to Fayette County after serving as a
captain in World War II.
|
Hired in 1946 by the New River and
Pocahontas Coal Co as a company doctor. He provided medical care
for the miners and their families in the coal towns of Thurmond,
Brooklyn, Kaymoor, and Minden.

Began a private practice in Oak Hill until
1967 when he bought the abandoned New River Company Store and
converted it to the Fayette Clinic.

Served with distinction on many local
governing boards and was a founder of the West Virginia School of
Osteopathic Medicine.
