Earth-2

Earth-2 was home to DC Comics' Golden Age of Comics characters and their stories. It was introduced in Flash #123, when Barry (the Flash) Allen first broke through the vibrational barrier between Earth-1 and Earth-2 to meet the Earth-2 Jay (the Flash) Garrick.

In the Earth-2 Universe, Superman's (Kal-L's) Kryptonian parents were Jor-L and Lora and his foster parents were John and Mary Kent. This Superman began his crime-fighting career as Superman and only learned about his Kryptonian origin as an adult. Superman was a honorary member of the Justice Society of America and maintained a Fortress of Solitude in the mountains outside of Metropolis. Late in his life, Superman was joined in his battle against evil by his cousin, Power Girl (Kara Zor-L). Clark (Superman) Kent worked at the Daily Star along side Editor George Taylor and reporters Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen. Superman/Kent and Lois Lane eventually married and, later, Kent became the editor of the Daily Star when Taylor retired.

The Batman of Earth-2 was also an honorary member of the Justice Society of America. Batman's enemies include Catwoman, the Penguin, the Joker, and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. After serving her time in prison Selena (Catwoman) Kyle married Bruce Wayne and they had a daughter named Helena. Years later, Selena died while being blackmailed into returning to crime. Bruce Wayne became Police Commissioner of Gotham City but died in battle as Batman fighting an old enemy. Helena Wayne became the Huntress to honor her parents' memories. Dick Grayson kept his Robin identify as an adult in tribute to his mentor.

Jay Garrick, the Flash of Earth-2 received his powers after being overcome by heavy water vapors during a science experiment in college. Garrick/Flash was a founding member of the Justice Society and later married his sweetheart, Joan. Garrick/Flash and the Earth-1 Allen/Flash are the discoverers of the vibrational barrier separating Earths 1 and 2.

Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) left Paradise Island, home of the Amazons, to help bring peace to Man's World during World War II. As Diana Prince, she served in the U.S. military beside Colonel Steve Trevor. When she retired, Princess Diana married General Trevor and they had a daughter named Lyta who eventually became a member of Infinity, Inc. (a group composed of the children and proteges of the JSA).

Engineer Alan Scott survived a train crash and was bathed in the light of a green lantern. A mystical voice and power explained that green lantern would bestow upon Scott great power. Scott fashioned a ring from the lantern's metal and became the Green Lantern.

Tired of being abused because of his short stature, Al Pratt undertook an extensive physical training regime and adopted the identity of the Atom. As the Atom, he became a member of the JSA and later gained greater strength when exposed to radiation.

Other heroes unique to Earth-2 include the Sandman and Sandy, Mr. Terrific, the Black Canary, the Star Spangld Kid and Stripesy, Dr. Mid-Nite, and Hourman. Earth-2 was home to the Justice Society of America, the All-Star Squadron, and Infinity Inc.

Earth-2 was one of the five remaining Earths that were merged to form Earth-Sigma of the Post-COIE DC Universe.
