Archibald Gilliam Preston b.9-10-1840 d.2-28-1905 m. on 12-19-1867 Martha Emily Mayo b.7-21-1848 d.12-29-1919 in Fayette Co., GA. Martha was the dau. of James G. Mayo and Mary Floyd. Archibald was the son of James Madison Preston and Permelia Wilson Smith and the grandson of Gilliam Preston and Sarah Floyd. Archibald and Martha had 12 children:

1. Esther Pearl Norton b.2-4-1899 d.10-1-1990 m. 1st James Snead, who died of Bright's Disease during WWI and they had one son.2nd. John Snead (brother). Esther and James Snead had a son.  Esther later married Jim's brother, John Snead.

2. Alzie Gertrude Norton b.4-22-1901 d.4-2-1980 m. on 12-31-1916 Thomas Franklin Hood b.3-11-1891 d.3-15-1945 in Fulton co., GA.  Alzie was buried in DeKalb Co., GA.   Thomas was buried in Rex, GA.  Alzie and Thomas had 6 children: (Data from Sarah H. Britton.and updated by Laura H. Corcoran)
• Martha Opal Hood b.10-13-1917 d. 7-10-2008 m. on 1-25-1941 Lowry Clark Walden b.2-6-1913 d.5-3-1982.  They had no children..
• Thomas Gerald Hood b.5-2-1919 in Doerun, GA d. 7-1-1998 m. in 1942  Edna Mae Reynolds and 2nd Barbara Jean Moody. Thomas and Edna had a daughter Gloria Hood. Thomas and Barbara had a daughter Donna Rebecca Hood.
• Sara Frances Hood b.3-13-1921 d.7-14-2002 in Blue Ridge, GA. m. in 1940 William (Bill) Francis Britton b.1919 d. 11-23-2004 in Blue Ridge, GA..They are both buried at the Church of Christ Cemetery in McCaysville, GA..  Sara and William had 2 children:
• William Scott Britton b.8-28-1944 m. Alberta Lura Bottoms and they had 2 children..
• Robert Michael Britton b.12-20-1948 m. Sharan Lee Reiter.
• Laura Maxine Hood b.2-17-1923 m. on3-5-1942 William Worth. Corcoran, Jr. b. xxxx d.6-3-1999 and they had a son:
• William (Bill) Preston Corcoran b.1-10-1944 d.4-19-2000. Bill had 5 children: Victor, Shannan, Bridie, Jean-Claude & Michael.

• Walter Eugene Hood b.3-6-1931 m. Bobbie Lee Hyde and they had 2 biological children and one adopted son..  Walter remarried 12-13-1980 Icie Hall Clark and they had no children.
3. Mary Jewel Norton b.4-15-1903 d. 7-7-1960 m. Nathan Blackburn and they had 5 children.
4. Vara Olivia Norton b.2-13-1905 d.3-23-1988 m. Rufus Godfrey and they had 3 children..
5. Emma Gladys Norton b.2-26-1907 d.3-28-2000 m. Joe Beck. They had 2 children.
6. Mildred Elizabeth Norton b.8-29-1909 d,2-28-2004 m. Johnny Frank Moore. They had a son Archie Moore and daughter Alice Moore.
7. Sarah Grace Norton b.3-28-1913 m. Jesse Hatcher. (still living 1-2012). They had 3 children:Travis, Mavis and Donald.
8. John Preston Norton b.8-16-1915 d.8-16-2007 m. Iva Mae Peters b. xxxx d.10-25-2005. They had no children.
9. Naomi Ruth Norton b.10-2-1917 d.7-13-2003 m. 1st John Henry Gay (5 children) and 2nd Hugh Vickers. Naomi and Hugh had no children.
8. Archibald Gray Preston b.1-26-1881 d.xxxx m. Vassie Ellis Withers..
9. Lola Estelle Preston b.6-27-1883 d.11-13-1948 m in Mar. 1903 Luther Oscar Jones. Lola and Luther had 4 girls, Elsie, Hassie, Alma and Winna.  Winna lives in the old Jonesboro, GA homeplace.
10. William (Will) Marshall Preston b.8-28-1885 d.1-15-1970 m. Nell Reynolds. They had no children.
11. Laura Ethel Preston b.1-15-1888 d.10-6-1970 m. on 12-20-1914 James Thomas Jackson.  They had two sons, Gordon and James.
12. Lottie Watson Preston b.8-17-1893 d.11-12-1947 m. on 12-7-1913 Dan Kent.  They live in Fulton County, Hapeville, GA.   No children
