Prestons of Great Britain -- Askam Bryan Hall

All of the genealogy presented on Prestons in Great Britain has come from a paper called 'Preston Genealogy' by William Bowker Preston pub. in 1900. He also refers to "Burke's Landed Gentry", or "Burkes Peerage and Baronetage". I have trouble following his wording so even if we assume everything he wrote is correct, I may not interpret it correctly.

The various Preston families may be connected and they do have the same family crest and motto but the connection for this branch is unknown. The motto is SI DIEU VEULT or "If God wills it". The crest, -on a ruined tower, a falcon rising afg. beaked, legged, and belled on.
