Robert Hays 1816-1892

Robert Hays b.1816 d.2-8-1892, brother of William Hays and Frederick Hays,  youngest son of William John Hays, Sr.,  married Margaret Alcorn, b.1806 d.1-11-1899. Robert was born in Horn Head, Ireland and died in Red Bank, PA.  They had 8 children some of which changed their name from Hay to Hayes, don't know which ones:

  2. John Hays b.5-10-1839 in Ireland remained unmarried. John died in Australia.
  3. Augustus Hays b.5-10-1839 (in Ireland)(twin of John) d.1-5-1879 remained unmarried.
  4. Fred Alcorn Hays b.ca.1838 in Ireland married Jane Gray. Fred and Jane had 1 child:

  5. Robert Hays, Jr. 1846-1931 married Ellen Kathleen (Mary Ellen) Shakley 1850-1924. Ellen and Robert had 2 sons:
