The following is not complete and has some errors in dates..under construction.

Martin Preston b. c.1530 2nd son of Jenico Preston, 3rd Viscount Gormanston, married Alison Herbert and they had a son:

• Hugh Preston b. c.1565 married the daughter and heiress of Jocelyn, Baron Nangle of Navan. They had a son:
• John Preston b. c.1600 married Unknown. John of Ardsallagh, County Meath, Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1653. More following.

John Preston b. c.1600 of Ardsallagh, married Unknown and had 4 sons.

1. Phineas Preston of Ardsallagh, b. c.1635 ancestor in the female line of Earls of Ludlow (extinct) ??.
2. Samuel Preston of Erno Park b. c.1640, whose daughter and heiress intermarried with the ancestor of the present (1900) Earl of Portarlington.
3. John Preston b. c.1645, ancestor of the Castletown, Tara or Bellinter Prestons (now extinct).
4. Nathaniel Preston Esq., b. c.1650, ancestor of the Swainston Prestons.

Nathaniel Preston b. c.1650 d.1743, M.P. for Navan, married Ann, daughter of Baron Dawson. Nathaniel and Ann had 4 children:

1. Nathaniel Preston b. c.1695.
2. Joshus Preston b. c.1697, Major in the army, died unmarried.
3. Arthur Preston b. c.1699 d.1788. Major Gen. 9th Lancers, married Miss Anne Noy and died without issue.
4. Anne Preston b. c.1702, married 1738, the Earl of Milltown, and left one daughter who married Hugh Henry, Esq., of Lodge Park.

Rev. Nathaniel Preston b. c.1695 d.1796, the eldest son of Nathaniel Preston and Ann, married first Alice Dillon, daughter of Sir John Dillon, Baronet of Lismullen, County Meath. They had 2 children:

1. Nathaniel Preston b. c.1730.
2. Arthur John Preston b. c.1735 d.xxxx, Dean of Linnerick, married in 1794 Aramintha Anne, daughter of Lord Decies, and had a son:
• Arthur John Preston II, b.c.1770 d.xxxx, Rector of Kilmeague, County Kildare, married Harriet Massy, daughter of J. F. Massy Esq. of Stoneville, County Linnerick. They had issue:
• Arthur John Preston III, b. c.1800, Major 35th Regiment, married Gertrude Knight, daughter of J. Knight, and they had issue:
• William Massy Preston b. ca.1835.
• Harriet Preston b. ca.1837 married R. Dunscombe Esq. of Mt. Desert County Cork.
• William Richard Preston b.ca 1840 d.1893, General (Hon. Col. Royal Munster Fusitiers) married Jane Ingle, daughter of John Ingle Esq. He left issue:
• John Ingle Preston b.ca.1875 d.xxxx, Major Gen. 45th Regiment.
• Elizabeth Preston b.ca.1845 married Charles Quin Esq. and died without issue.
• Alice Preston b.ca.1847 married Richard Welsh Esq. and left 6 children.

Rev. Nathaniel Preston married second in 1763, Mary Hamilton, daughter of Hon. Henry Hamilton. They left 3 children:
