James Garland Tinsley 1843-1920

James Garland Tinsley b.8-30-1843 d.12-13-1920 (H), son of Thomas Garland Tinsley and his second wife, Patsy Rutherfoord, married on 2-26-1867 Martha (Pattie) Winston Jones, dau. of Laney Jones Jr. (1807-1880) and Martha Ann Watt of Hilly Farm, Hanover Co., VA. Martha Jones was born 5-30-1843 d.8-12-1911 (H). James purchased a home they called "Picquenocque" in about 1880. It was in Hanover Co., VA a few miles north east of Richmond and was used as his main residence in order to be close to his office in Richmond. Upon his death it became the home of his daughter Margaret Tinsley Moncure (Mrs. William A. Moncure). Upon her death it was sold in about 1958.
