Walnut Grove
Walnut Grove was the name of the Preston home in Washington County Virginia. Built in 1802 by Robert Preston Sr. and still standing as of 1990. It is now also called Sheffey Place, after being owned for two generations by Sheffeys. It is located about 5 miles east of Bristol, Virginia.
The house is now weather boarded but it is a long log house with two very large rock chimneys, one at each end of the house.
