Isaac Murray Birth: Dec. 4, 1846 Death: Dec. 15, 1912 Obituary from the Scottville Enterprise, Thursday, Dec 19, 1912, p1: Isaac Murray a Civil War Veteran Died Sunday Afternoon at His Late Home in Eden Isaac Murray, a veteran of the Civil war, died of paralysis at 3:30 Sunday afternoon, at his home in Eden township. Saturday Mr. Murray was feeling well and came to Scottville, got shaved and transacted some business Sunday morning, while putting on his shoes, Mrs. Murray, who was in another room, heard her husband make a peculiar noise and went at once to him. He asked her to tie his shoes and they were tthe last words he spoke. He was taken illand died at the about hour Sunday afternoon. Isaac Murray was born in Meigs county, Ohio, December 4, 1846. When the Civil war broke out he enlisted in the 13th Indiana cavalry and served his country well for three years. Some 16 or 17 years ago he came to Michigan, locating in Gratiot county. After a time he went to Ohio and resided until about one year ago when he came to Mason county and located on a farm in Eden township. He was a good citizen and neighbor, and was respected by all who knew him. Besides his widow he leaves five children, Charles of Eden; John and Mrs. John King, of Lima, Ohio; William and Mrs. James Moyer of South Custer. The funeral was held from the Evangelical church at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, Rev. H. A. Decker having charge of the services.
