Jackson County is located in the middle of the State of West Virginia. I-77 runs south to north in the middle of the County with the Ohio River as the Western border. Being situated between two large metropolitan areas in the State, and operating as a rural County based, levy funded EMS system. Having 3 ALS stations 24/7 located strategically throughout the County. There are over 24 full time and part-time EMT's and Paramedics. With a fleet of 6 ALS Ambulances, operating under the State of West Virginia Medical Command System, using Statewide Protocols. Working with the 5 Volunteer Fire Departments of the County, and dispatched by the County 911 center (OEMS).
