What is ... ?
- Karate: Open hand defense. There is no first strike in karate. Emphasis in Seiei Kan Karate is a balanced approach between blocking, kicking and punching so as to have the maximum chance of surviving an attack unhurt.
- Jujitsu: Ground fighting. Jujitsu is based on being able to defend yourself while knocked down to the ground. Emphasis is on falling, grappling techniques and holds. Combining karate and jujitsu is a very effective way to defend yourself.
- Iaido: Iaido is traditional and non-traditional Japanese sword. Unlike some forms of the sword art, Iaido uses actual sharp blades and teaches draws, cuts and returns as well as practical fighting with a live blade.
- Kobudo: Weapons defense. In Kobudo emphasis is placed on learning traditional Japanese weapons as well as using improvised weapons to defend onself. Traditional weapons include the Tonfa, Bo Staff, Sai, Naganata, Escrima Stick and Kama. Improvised weapons can include pretty much anything such as brooms, sticks, clubs, knives or whatever.
