[ Truetone Jazz King ] [ Sebring Japanese Strat ] [ Headless guitar ] [ Squier Venus 12-string ]

I sold my Ovation Breadwinner on eBay and bought this 1964 TrueTone "Jazz King", a rebranded Kay "Speed Demon". It has a good, clean, old-timey blues sound and plays very well for a guitar from Western Auto. I've made a pickguard for it but I can't figure out how to put the barred 8th notes on it like the original ones had. I recorded "Cocaine Blues" using this guitar.

The purple Strat-style guitar is a Sebring from eBay. It gets a nice quack in the middle/bridge combo position. You can hear it on the intro and rhythm guitar parts to "Code Blue" at SoundClick

I bought the Hondo Lazer headless guitar as a novelty item, but it actually has a decent sound when used to overdrive a tube amp. The problem with playing this is that the absence of a head screws up your visual frame of reference if you're used to playing standard guitars.

I bought the Squier Venus 12-string as a substitute for spending too much on an original 1960's Fender XII. It has the same vibe as the original. The split pickups are Seymour Duncans and the bridge has individually adjustable saddles for each string.
