I decided that I wanted a static gravedigger prop for the yard and it will evolve into having it's arms and head move...gotta love windshield wiper motors!
Enter Stavros. I found him at the local cemetery and offered him a
part-time job keeping an eye on the graveyard...(Yes I admit I obsess about Halloween).
As you can see he is from the old country and doesn't say much.
He had one request...he said the graveyard was too dark and cold so he wanted a fire to keep his old bones...and others… warm.
Creating Fire
As a Disney fan, I have been fascinated by the fire effects on the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. I have tried to figure out how to replicate them for several years to no avail. And barring finding an old electric flame log from the fifties (1950s not 1850s), I settled on an alternative that was economical and easy to make.
Parts:
1-Flaming Cauldron prop that you don't want to use anymore
2- 50 light strands of yellow / orange mini-lights with flashing bulb
1-1 1/2 yards red cellophane
1-Extension cord with 3-4 outlets
Wood, either branches or kindling about 1 foot in length
Stiff wire or cable ties
