Oak Moon

One of the many names for the Full Moon in December is the Oak Moon.

The powers most easily tapped at this time are enduring, dying, being reborn; earth tides turning. Darkness. Personal alchemy. Spiritual paths. Reaching out to friends and family, the lonely and the needy. This is the time of year for determining the things inside of you that are not as you would like them to be, and to change them. It's the time of year to examine your path and figure out if it's what you want and who you want to be. This is also the time of year for healing old wounds that are carrying over into your life from your past.

One of the main sources for the healing of old wounds for any human being is to use meditation. There are many good books that teach this. The one I most highly recommend is D. J. Conway's By Oak, Ash, & Thorn. The book is about modern Celtic Shamanism, but would be valuable to any human being whether they are interested in Shamanism or not. Also, it wouldn't preclude being an American Indian Shaman. It teaches spirituality...and that's the key. It teaches how to heal your soul, and that's a valuable first step in becoming a Witch, Minister, or any other being.
