XTRACON Recommends:
For fast, efficient drying of Thermoplastic Polyurethane
Elastomers and high durometer TPU plastics, the new
NovaDrier N Series Drier from NOVATEC
carries our
highest recommendation. Two recent start-ups with the
new dryer cut the drying times in half as compared to
a standard desiccant dryer for both a 100% regrind TPU
and a TPU Engineering Thermoplastic (normally extremely difficult to dry).
This new unit operates without desiccant, drying the air
through a very simple, micro-porous membrane, which yields
-40° (minimum) air almost immediately and keeps it
at that level or lower throughout the drying cycle.
The unit is virtually maintenance free, requiring only
periodic filter changes. There are no moving parts,
nor process motor. and without desiccant there is no
need for regeneration motor or regeneration heater.
The unit operates by using compressed air which is
partially recycled during the drying process so compressor usage is
minimized. Also, there is no need for refrigerated or desiccated air to
be supplied to the unit. The dryer will also purge
other volatiles from the process.
The N-Series are constructed of stainless steel and the
hoppers are insulated to minimize loss of heat to the
atmosphere. There are 5 capacities available (5-120 lbs./hr.)
and they all carry a three-year warranty by the manufacturer.
30 day trial periods, operating in your plant with your
equipment, are also possible.
