The charm of living in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada is that we may choose to live in a conifer forest, in oak woodlands, in chaparral or on grasslands. We are here to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us. Planting natives in our gardens can help replace some of the native plants that are gradually disappearing as aggressive imported plants take their place and as more homes are built on previously wild land. Whether you have acreage or a small lot, the information on this site will facilitate landscaping with native plants, which will enhance your property in both appearance and usefulness while contributing to the preservation of our countryside.
