Bowker Preston b.1781-84 d.12-26-1851, eldest son of Stephen Preston and Dosha Smith, married Catherine Hook, the
daughter of John Hook. They had 4 children:
- William Bowker Preston who died unmarried at the age of 24.
- Elizabeth Hook Preston b.xxxx d.1872, married Oct. 1832 Matthew B.
Nowlin. They had 8 children:
- James Bowker Nowlin.
- Catherine Nowlin, lived in Lynchburg, Va. unmarried.
- Margaret D. Nowlin
- Elizabeth F. Nowlin married William Stratton in 1862.
- William S. Nowlin died in 1862.
- Bryant H. Nowlin
- John D. Nowlin killed in Confederate Army in 1862.
- M. Susan Nowlin died in 1864.
- Margaret Preston married John Thomas Davis b.ca.1804 on
6-22-1834. She died in 1853. John was a merchant in Lynchburg and the brother of
Annis Elizabeth Davis who married Pleasant Preston. (For John's ancestors see Pleasant Preston). They had six children:

- Mary Elizabeth Davis.
- Annis B. Davis.
- Thomas Bowker Davis.
- Margaret Preston Davis.
- Susan Ellen Davis.
- Dosha Preston b.2-1811 d.5-1880 married Sept. 1835, Peter D. Holland
b.12-30-1803 d.5-5-1885. They had 3 children:
- Mary Holland.
- William Preston Holland b.9-23-1836 married Sally Hale.
- Thomas Bowker Holland b.7-8-1840, Capt. of Co. D., 27th Virginia Confederate Cavalry,
wounded in action with Sheridan's Cavalry, near Richmond May 12, 1864, died June 16, 1864.
