Garlick

Samuel Garlick, the first name in Virginia, was born in England, came to Virginia and settled in King William Co., where he lived at a place called "Mt. Pleasant", on the Mattapony, adjoining "North Point". The homestead "North Point" is exactly opposite "White Hall", in King & Queen Co., later owned by Samuel Garlick's son, John.

Samuel Garlick's will, dated July 14, 1765, was proved in King William Co., Oct. 16, 1772. He names sons, John, Samuel and Camm Garlick, and daughters, Hannah, Mary, Sarah and Elizabeth. Mention ??? of his mother, Hannah Garlick, late of the city of Bristol, a brother Edward Garlick, father-in-law, John Camm, his wife Mary Garlick, and son-in-law Robert Hill. His sons John and Samuel, "when they shall attain to lawful age", as executors. The will is witnessed by John Temple, Joseph Temple and Ann Pollard.

See Documents for Samuel's Will and several letters written by Samuel Garlick to Robert Hill.
