Martin John ca.1765 d.1847

Much of the information on the JOHN family comes from the book, "Armstrong County Pennsylvania, Her People Past and Present", Vol. I and II published in 1914. Other information came from 'The Bowser Family History' by Addison Bartholomew Bowser, A. M. published in 1922. Bold equals my line.

Rev. Martin John b.ca 1765 d.1847 married Mary Esther Bowser (Bausser) (in her native tongue it would be Matilena Bausser) born in 1758/68 in Paradise Twp., York Co., PA. d.xxxx. Martin was a Dunkard minister who came to Washington Twp., Armstrong Co., PA and settled on what is now (1922) known as the Jonas Bowser farm. Martin hewed the logs for and built a log cabin in Washington township which was the first building in that section of the county in 1808. A second story was added and the house sheltered 4 generations. The house fell into ruin in 1918. Esther was the daughter of Mathias Bausser, Jr. 1711- and his wife Anna Elizabeth Unknown b.1713, and the granddaughter of Mathias Bausser, Sr. ca.1670-xxxx and his wife Esther Unknown..
