         Obituary Hattie Murray Hattie Murray, daughter of James and Harriet Murray, was born at Keosauqua, Iowa, June 10, 1866 and departed this life at Dundas, Ohio, December 12, 1942, aged 76 years, 6 months, 2 days. She was first married to William McGhee, who had preceded her in death and to this union was seven children born: Mrs. Frona Chesser of Dundas Mrs. Clara McDonald of Athens Mrs. Maude Sickle of Athens Mrs. Mary Wrightsel of Grove City Mrs. Erma McDonald of The Plains Mr. Selva McGhee of Dundas One son James preceded her in death. She was later married to Michael Long, on Sept. 8, 1904, who died on Jam 25, 1932, and to this union was born one child, Mrs. Alice Nutter, of Brunswick, Maryland. After moving to Ohio with her Father she has spent practically all her life in the vicinity in which she died for her chief interest was of her home and children to whom she was deeply attached. She united with the United Brethren Church many years ago and as long as her health permitted was a faithful attendant at public worship and as long as life lasted was a loyal supporter of the church. Her long illness which has been of about 7 years duration has demonstrated her patience with which she has met many of the adversities of life and smiled through her pain striving to conceal her troubles and anxieties which gnawed at her body. She is gone but her memory will linger in the hearts of those nearest and dearest to her and will influence their lives leading them to live a better and nobler life. Our hearts are bowed in grief but not in despair for we are all looking forward to the Resurrection when we shall see her again. Besides above named children she leaves 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Four brothers Joe of Florida; Lewis Murray of Oreton; Charley Murray of Bowling Green; and Ora Murray of McArthur. Weary of suffering and disease. That ever on her seemed to heap. Like some tired child, she closed her eyes. And with a sign fell asleep. And in that sleep and Angel came. And gave her soul a sweet release and led her to that Fairer Realm of perfect joy where sorrows cease. She only left the loved ones here to join with those who went before and wait for those who yet must come. When life is wricked in smiles today. And there is gladness in her eyes and she with multitudes enjoys the fragrant flowers of Paradise. The soul is never made to die and memory is never dead and those who lived are living still and somewhere wait for us ahead.
