Nearly a month into the new year I figured it may be time to archive last year's blogs and start on at least one before this first month comes to a conclusion. The Kimbo's New Year's Eve gig went pretty well with a moderate crowd. I set up a countdown to run on the new laptop to bring in the new year. It wasn't quite as crazy as I would have expected the place to be on that particular night. It was a good kickoff for the new year though. We returned to Sealy Flats for a couple nights in a row in the middle of the month and elicited a less than diplomatic noise complaint from the owner, so my enthusiasm for playing there has momentarily waned. We also played Steel Penny again to an appreciative crowd who wanted to hear more. Same at Party Ranch last weekend. We're back to Sealy Flats this weekend and my report/verdict will follow in view of our last gig there. I think I'm gonna bring my small bass amp. I made it back down to Menard long enough to get one new circuit operational in the house so the light in the powder room now works. Hope to get more of that accomplished pronto. It's been fun with a cold snap taking temperatures into single digits and busting pipes under the house as well as at the ranch. Hasn't helped my cough either, which I think has returned for the season. Gonna keep trying different drugs until somthing finally shuts it up. Stay tuned.
