Lives of the Musicians (and what the neighbors thought) by Kathleen Krull. This is truly an excellent book. My students absolutely LOVE the juicy tidbits that this author provides. It helps bring relevance to the fact that these composers were "regular" people with the same needs and desires as we all have.
