Final Rites Held Friday For Mrs. Eure
Gatesville- Mrs. Gypsie Turner Eure, age 70, died in the Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, Wednesday night. She was a native of Gates County and the daughter of the late Washington and Anna Felton Lilley.
She is survived by one son, E. E. Turner, Gatesville; one daughter, Mrs. S. H. Carter, Jr, Gatesville; two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Lassiter, Gates, and Miss Geneva Lilley, Gatesville; two grandson and two great grandsons.
Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at eleven thirty at the Gatesville Baptist Church. The pastor, Rev. J. L. Walter Moose, conducted the service. Burial was in the Gatesville cemetery. The pall beares were her nephews.
The body was removed to Rountree and Hofler Funeral Home, Gatesville, where it remained until the hour of the service.

Mrs. Yule, 35, Dies Sunday; Rites Monday
Portsmouth- Mrs. Gordon Yule, 35, died in King's Daughter's Hospital Sunday morning. She is survived by her husband Gordon Yule, Portsmouth; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Eure, Gates; three brothers, J. W. Eure, Gates, H. L. Eure, Sumpter, S.C.,
H. P. Eure, Gatesville; one sister, Mrs. H. V. Beamon, Jr., Suffolk.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at 3 p.m. at the Reynoldson Baptist Church, Gates. The pastor, the Rev. Oscar Edmond, conducted the services. Her cousins served as active pallbearers. The body was taken to Rountree and Hofler Funeral Home, Gatesville, where it remained until being taken to the church one hour before the service. Burial was in the family cemetery.

Rev. J. [O. Eure] Passes [Away] County N[ative]
Norfolk- The Rev. Ja[mes O.] Eure, 63, retired paster [of the] Church of God, 28th Stree[t ...] Omohundro Avenue, died Su[nday] afternoon in a Norfolk hospital. [He] had been in ill health for 10 years, when he retired after 31 years in the ministry.
A native of Gates County, he had lived here for 43 years, lately at 734 West Liberty Street, Berkley.
His parents were James Monroe and Mrs. Sarah Eure, of Gates County.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lula Bell Eure; two sons, the Rev. Paul Eure, of Virginia Beach, and James Melvin Eure, of Norfolk; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Norvelle, Mrs. Edith Taylor, and Mrs. Thelma Evans, all of Norfolk, and Mrs. Naomi Taylor, of South Norfolk; one brother, A. M. Eure, of Gates County; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley, and was taken to the Church of God, Norfolk, for funeral services Monday at 3 p.m. It will be forwarded for a second funeral service at Harrell's Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in churchyard.

Mrs. O. E. Eure Dies Sudden At Her Home
Gatesville- Mrs. Oscar E. Eure, age 64, died suddenly at her home near here about 8 o'clock Saturday night. She is the daughter of the late Anderson and Martha Jane Green and a native of Gates County.
Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons,
Woodie R. and Cecil C. Eure of Gatesville, Robert G., Raleigh M., and Lloyd A. Eure of Eure; five daughters, Mrs. O. N. Howell, Roduco, Mrs. J. J. Turner, Portsmouth, Mrs. C. A. Foutz, Norfolk, Mrs. Carey W. Eason and Mrs. Thomas Mise of Gatesville; 2 brothers; Samuel and Jim Green, Eure, and 22 grandchildren.

Final Rites Held Thursday For Mrs. Eure
Gatesville- Funeral services for Mrs. Oscar E. Eure, who died suddenly at her home near here Saturday, June 12, were held at Eure's Christian Church Thursday, June 17, at 3 o'clock.
The Rev. R. E. Brittle, pastor of Eure's Christian Church, officiated and was assisted by the Rev. J. M. Jolliff of Gatesville and The Rev. K. E. Bryant, pastor of Cools Spring Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Active pall-bearers were: William John Harrell, Otis Rountree, Willard Turner, Charlie W. Eason, Lycurgus Howell, Leslie Felton, Lugene Felton and Lindy Eure.
Honorary pall-bearers were: Missionary Society of Eure's Christian Church, Ladies Aid Society of Eure's Christian Church.

Eure Boy Dies of Injuries
Corapeake- Funeral services were held Sunday at the Zions Tabernacle Baptist Church, Corapeake for John W. Eure of Corapeake, 17 years of age, who died in the Obici Hospital, Suffolk, on Thursday, August 26 of injuries received when struck by an automobile on highway No. 32 near Carapeake Saturday night, August 21.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Eure, Corapeake, and a member of the Senior Class of the T. S. Cooper High School, Sunbury.
Eure was an outstanding athlete, being a member of the Dramatic Club, Choral Club and Male Quartet, and considered a better than average student. His death came as a shock to all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Eure, four sisters & three brothers, all of the home and a host of relatives and friends.
Rev. R. R. Purnell and Rev. E. H. Griffin were in charge of the services. Interment was in the family plot in the church yard.

Mrs. Parker Passes at 71
Norfolk- Mrs. India Eure Parker, 71, widow of Charlie C. Parker, died at a Norfolk hospital Saturday at 9 a.m.
She is survived by a daughter; Mrs. Mary Parker Stuart, and a son, Alton E. Parker, both of Norfolk, and five grandchildren, Charlie Parker and Johnnie Parker, both of Gatesville, Miss Suzanne Parker of Norfolk and Miles Parker Bratten and Henry Parker Bratten, both of San Diego, Calif.
Mrs. Parker was a native of Little River County, Ark., and had been a resident of Norfolk for 13 years, residing at 525 West 38th Street. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Temple.
Pallbearers were H. E. Mullen, P. F. Zydzik, C. A. Little, B. F. Jernigan, C. S. Evans and O. L. West. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. John Eure, 79, Dies Monday; Rites Wednesday
Eure- Mrs. Annie Mary Eure, 76, died in Roanoke Chowan Hospital at Ahoskie Monday after a lingering illness. She was the widow of
John Eure.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Lillie Eure, Portsmouth, Va., Mrs. J. E. Casper, Norfolk, Va., and Mrs. Roy Horton, Eure; five sons, J. R., Portsmouth, Va., J. Edward, Como, M. L., Rocky Mount, and M. F. & W. F. Eure, Eure, one sister, Mrs. Z. V. Bazemore, Cofield; three brothers, C. F. Harrell and J. E. Harrell, Portsmouth, Va., and A. E. Harrell, Martinsville, Va.; 29 grandchildren & 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Cool Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. K. E. Bryant of Ahoskie officiating. Burial was in the Cool Spring Cemetery.

Riddick Eure Dies Sudden; Rites Tuesday
Norfolk- Riddick T. Eure, 30, died suddenly Sunday night at his home here.
He was a native of Eure up to a few years ago when he moved to Norfolk.
He is survived be his wife, Mrs. Hilda Collins Eure, of Norfolk and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Eure, of Eure.
Funeral services were conducted at the Eure Christian Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. The pastor, the Rev. R. E. Brittle, conducted the services. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were V. W. Byrd, Roy Eure, Gurney Eure, Preston R. Umphlett, Charlie Umphlett and Henry Eure

Mrs. Ada Eure Passes at 69
Eure- Mrs. Ada Umphlett Eure, 69, died at her home near here Monday at 6:40 a.m.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Eure Christian Church; of which she was a member, Wednesday at 3 p.m. by the pastor, the Rev. R. E. Brittle. Burial will be in the church yard.
Mrs. Eure, a native of Gates County, was a daughter of Dorsey and Irene Harrell Umphlett and widow of Daniel B. Eure.
Surviving are six daughters,
Mrs. H. J. Perry, Mrs. R. D. Harrell, Mrs. Frank Edwards, and Mrs. A. T. Doughtie, all of Eure;... Mrs. Haywood Dilday of Ahoskie, and Mrs. Wesley Eure of Portsmouth, Va; three brothers, Joe Umphlett, of Gates, Willie Umphlett of Winton, and David Umphlett of Whaleyville, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. M. E. Felton of Colerain, Mrs. Charlie Manseau of Charleston, S.C., and Mrs. Elijah Ward of Eure, 13 grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Eure Man Dies; Long Illness
Eure.- Tenson Norfleet Eure, 70, died at his home near here Wednesday at 6 p.m. after all illness of eight years.
Mr. Eure, a farmer, was born in Gates County September 7, 1884, to Tobe and Annie Taylor Eure.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sue Cullins Eure; three sons, Nathan Eure, of Eure, N.C.;
Clyde Eure, of Gates, and Woodie Eure of Portsmouth; one daughter, Mrs. Howard Yelton, of Roduco; two brothers; Clyde Eure, of Bowers Hill, Va., and Lee Eure, of Portsmouth. three sisters, Mrs. Ave Hancock of Suffolk; Mrs. Richard Drake, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Mae Daughtry, of Norfolk, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from Eure Christian Church Friday at 2:30 p.m. by the pastor, the Rev. R. E. Brittle. Burial will be in the family cemetery near the home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Eure Christian Church. Rev. R. E. Brittle, pastor, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body was removed to the Rountree and Hofler Funeral Home where it will remain until one hour prior to the services.

Mrs. Eure, 78, Dies; Rites Last Thursday
Eure- Mrs. Rosa Eure Eure, 78, died at 6:30 p.m. at her home near here after a long illness.
Surviving are two sons, J. G. and Roy Eure; two daughters, Mrs.
Iolia Parker and Mrs. Roy Harrell, all of Eure; five grandchildren and eight grand-grandchildren.
Her husband was Grailey Eure, who died 12 years ago. Her parents were Henry C. and Mrs. Tempie Eure, of Gates County.
The body was removed to the Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, where it remained until Thursday at 3 p.m.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Eure Christian Church by the Rev. R. E. Brittle, pastor. Burial was in the church yard.
Active pallbearers were Dorsey Sawyer, Troy Greene, Carey Harrell, Tazwell Eure, Clifton Eure and Bob Eure.

Mrs. Blanchard Passes Away; Funeral Sat.
Sunbury- Mrs. Ida Blanchard, 77, died at her home here Thursday afternoon at 4:30 after a lingering illness. She was the wife of the late Edward W. Blanchard and the daughter of the late John and Martha Eure.
She is survived by five sons, Lonnie E., Hampton, Herbert L., Jersey City, N.J., Alton E., Sunbury, Emmett C., Portsmouth, and Edward C., Gates; four daughters, Mrs. F. L. Brinkley, Suffolk, Mrs. F. R. Chappell, Belvidere, Mrs. L. M. Wiggins and Miss Sallie Mae Blanchard, Sunbury; one sister, Mrs. Annie Atkinson, Suffolk; six grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Beulah Baptist Church. The pastor, the Rev. W. V. Brown conducted the service, assisted by the Rev. A. J. EUre. Burial was in the Blanchard family cemetery. Active pallbearers were Frank Eure, Edward Eure, D. E. Blanchard, Arthur Collins, W. E. Brown and Clinton Eley.
The body was removed from the Rountree and Hofler Funeral Home, Gatesville, to the church one hour before the service.
