  • "The still image records a moment created in fractions of a second. The video is a montage of moments played together to create an “extended moment.” What happens when we approach video as still photojournalists, with a legacy of great storytelling and ethics, considering motion and sound as two more layers of information available to our imagery?
The result is a powerful form of hands-off reporting with video that places the focus of storytelling where it belongs - on the subject, and allows viewers to find the moment between layers of excellent photography, audio and motion. A new style of photojournalism is born, with a growth potential as deep and wide as the creative soul."

    - David Leeson, Pulitzer Prize Winner, Photojournalist, Filmmaker

      Key Points:
The processes used for planning will vary based on the complexity of the project and the style of video being produced. For short, instructional style clips, a simple written description will suffice. For more complex projects such as a video drama, a pictorial storyboard may be more appropriate.

Pre-production includes the logistics of the production, as well as, guidance to the camera crew. Even with a simple project, a large number of variables can positively or negatively impact the quality of the project.

The combination of thorough planning and experience will help make the difference.
