The School Away from School/Expulsion program provides an alternative academic environment when a student has been removed from their home school by a decision of the Caddo Parish School Board or their designees in the Student Welfare and Attendance Department. Students report to ARCDC for the amount of time specified by the attendance department, and then they are allowed to return to their home school once they have met any additional guidelines set forth during disciplinary hearings, behavior improvement plans, or academic enrichment plans. Students in grades four through eight receive academic instruction from a highly qualified faculty in Mathematics, English and Language Arts, Reading, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education. They also have the opportunity to learn life skills through the Growing Up Ready curriculum, and they have access to behavioral professionals in our Center for Academic and Behavioral Assistance.

The faculty and staff of the Academic Recovery and Career Discovery Center strive to provide every student assigned to our school with a safe, restricted environment where they can learn the appropriate academic and behavior skills needed to be successful in school and in life.
